Depuis 1983
It was June of 1983 when Le Panier opened its doors in Pike Place Market for the very first time. The day lives wonderfully in our memory as a blur of lovely aromas and happy customers combined with sheer exhaustion.
Le Panier’s founder, Hubert Loevenbruck, greeted each customer with a sample of a freshly baked croissant or tartelette while French bakers pulled crackling loaves and pain au chocolat from the ovens.
Born, raised and trained in Normandy, France. These are the original French bakers who helped Hubert create Le Panier and introduced the delights of classic French baking to Seattle 37 years ago.
Our French foundation continues on with several of the original bakers still spending their days baking at Le Panier.
We were all in our early 20’s then. These many years later, we’ve developed true friendship and camaraderie. We lived a charming bakery life together in our youth. We still do.
