Our Favorite Stuffing Recipe

Home-made stuffing

Our loaf of campagne, dried out for a few days makes a wonderfully flavorful stuffing. Here’s our favorite recipe - you can see we love butter!

Recipe courtesy of Bonnie Shepherd (Kristi’s mom)

Bread:

  • 9 cups of bread (we recommend our Campagne) cut into cubes. We recommend slicing the bread cubes and leaving to dry on a tray for a few days.

Sauté:

  • ¾ C onions, diced

  • 1 ½ C celery, diced

  • 3 garlic cloves, diced

  • 1 C butter

  • ½ - 1 C diced pancetta (optional)

Saute until onion and celery are soft and transparent

 Stir in:

  • 1 t salt

  • 1 ½ t sage (dried leaves or powder)

  • 1 t thyme leaves

  • ½ t black pepper

Once all is combined - pour mixture over 9 cups of dried bread cubes.

If stuffing into turkey no additional liquid is necessary but if baking to warm in the oven – add chicken broth.
